Splatoon is a game with a cheery, colorful aesthetic, but as some players have discovered, it has some fairly creepy elements as well. Before or after the boss battles of the single player mode, strange, unsettling sounds can be heard in the background of the stage. In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Tsubasa Sakaguchi, the director of Splatoon, was asked about these sounds.
