What Does the Bible Say About Marijuana?

When I was a teenager I remember having a conversation with my friend’s mom about pot. I was trying to convince her that it’s not really a huge deal, and the bible doesn’t say not to do it. In fact, it doesn't mention marijuana at all. Her response was to quote Romans 13:2, “...those who refuse to obey the law of the land are refusing to obey God.” At this time weed wasn’t legal anywhere in the country, so her reasoning was…since it was illegal then it was wrong. However, since then the laws have changed. Now, it’s legal in almost half of the states and decriminalized in several others. So where does that leave us? Is marijuana a sin? How should Christians regard it now that it’s becoming legal?
