If you're planning to replace the front timing belt on your 3.0 TDV6 Range Rover Sport (L320) – watch this first. This isn't just another DIY. If this belt fails, you're looking at catastrophic engine damage – no joke. This was the most time-consuming and complex jobs on our 2011 Range Rover Sport L320 with the 3.0 TDV6 engine: replacing the front timing belt. This took us three full days, a lot of patience, and several special tools. We used a fan removal tool to get the fan off, and a proper timing tool kit to lock the flywheel and camshaft pulleys. While we were in there, we also replaced the serpentine belt, all pulleys, and the tensioner. The hardest part? Definitely removing the starter motor – but we’ll show you exactly how we managed it.
