For decades, India has been described as a “developing country,” but what if the real limitation isn’t resources—it’s mindset? Drawing on stories of history, entrepreneurship, and India’s young population, Shafi Shaukat argues that youth, belief, and problem-solving are the country’s greatest assets, and that building a developed nation begins by creating opportunities at home rather than searching for them elsewhere. Raised in a small village in Kerala, has emerged as one of India’s boldest young ecosystem builders. As the Founder of iQue Ventures, he is creating a pioneering private startup ecosystem dedicated to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs. He is the visionary behind India’s first Startup Park in Bengaluru — a landmark space designed to empower innovators and founders with world-class resources under one roof. Every challenge he faced while building his own ventures became a lesson shaping his mission: to create solutions so that future entrepreneurs never face the same roadblocks. His commitment is rooted in building a stronger, more supportive entrepreneurial environment for India’s youth. Shafi is also the author of “India Is a Developed Country,” reflecting his belief that entrepreneurship is the key to India’s growth story. Having invested in and incubated 200+ startups, he continues to mentor founders, open doors, and strengthen India’s innovation landscape.
