Salvaging a piece of history. Episode 3 in the 1965 Silvertone restoration trilogy. The only thing dirty guitars need is love. I can't imagine what circumstances had to occur for a guitar to become this neglected. Under all that grime was a gem. These old guitars are certainly quirky but also so innovative for the era. Once setup properly, they are lovely to play. Believe it or not, there is no ground to the bridge and it is the quietest guitar I've ever played. I did modify the electronics a bit and I grounded all the pots and switch to the jack. The intonation is spot on even with that slim piece of rosewood used as a bridge. And my new favorite thing is using hydrogen peroxide to make yellowed plastic parts white again. Works like magic when place under the Texas sun. This one is staying in my collection. Enjoy.
