NITECORE P23i Review - Wilderness Search and Rescue

This is part 3 of the review series of the Nitecore P23i 3000 lumen flashlight. The first two reviews focused primarily on law enforcement application of the light. This review illustrates using the P23i as a free light in wilderness Search and Rescue. This video documents a complex land-navigation exercise centered on identifying and working my way through undocumented shortcuts. The exercise was performed at the LBJ Grasslands outside of Decatur, Texas and was done exclusively using primitive land navigation. No map, compass, or GPS navigation was used throughout the night. Including setup and breakdown, the P23i was exposed to cold weather (end temp was 28F) for over four hours. Ending wind chill was 20F, so it proved to be an exhausting and challenging exercise for me as well as the light :) The entire exercise was performed in the context of a Search and Rescue scenario, which is documented in the video. A lot of the SAR details are either not discussed or quickly summarized in order to save time. The north wind was pretty brutal throughout the night. I removed most of the wind noise in post, but left some in as a reminder of its presence. The wind (and wind noise removal) did have an effect on audio, so I highly recommend having CC on for this video. Once again, I want to thank Nitecore for providing the light for review.
