Linking WEAP and LEAP for Water-Energy Studies

Model the Water-Energy Nexus: Dynamic linkage to SEI's Low Emissions Analysis Platform (LEAP). Create dynamic, bidirectional links between a WEAP water planning model and a LEAP energy and emissions planning model. Users can now explore how individual water or energy management choices ripple through both the water and energy systems, understanding trade offs that might not be apparent when looking at either system alone. They can then evaluate outcomes against their policy goals and priorities: to supply enough water for all, to reduce GHG emissions, etc. If one approach leads to unacceptable results, they can then explore alternative policies and measures.
