Torrent River is a beautiful canyon in Abel Tasman National Park that culminates at the legendary Cleopatra's Pool. Unfortunately, the commercial operator who normally runs this canyon, is closed for the winter season. I decided to spend my birthday doing a solo run of this canyon with no technical gear and just a 3/2 wetsuit. (DO NOT ATTEMPT ANYTHING LIKE THIS.)
