"Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose." - Lyndon B. Johnson So the rumors are true! I am alive, and have quit Perfect World for good. I always knew that the day I quit would not be when I made "Sprouts Aren't Forever" and went to Vendetta a month later. No, it would be when I disappear from the face of the earth more than a year ago, then come back with an entirely different game. Alas, it is only natural. Today, I have two different audience for my video. My old friends from Perfect World, and my new ones from Swordsman. So if you are new, then feel free to keep reading, or not. These long descriptions are nothing news. It is only proper though, that I address my old ones first. Perfect World is history. I have watched the game grow, and I grew with it. The people I've met, and the community I've been a part of have brought me to where I am today. For better or for worse, I am thankful. Yet, things are no longer the way it once was. In the elderly years of Perfect World, the developers have made more and more less than optimal decisions. I watched the community that formed around it leave in despair. Slowly, there was no longer anything to attach me to the game. Nothing for me to hold on to, and so I let go. Yes, the official servers have merged and some people have come back, but it is a Sisyphean labor to try and catch up. Even if I could, why would I waste all my hours doing the now countlessly many dailies and spend hours in PvE when my interest has always been PvP all along? Even if, hypothetically, someone were to straight out give me a character how could the official servers ever provide the level of PvP that I found on private servers? At it's best, I might get the PvP I show cased in the video "They call me... Intuition". Yet even that is just an ever so tiny slice of what an active private server could've offered. Just check out the many mass pvp videos of my old friend zFlashx (zFlashxDPW) or AiZoX (IAiZoX) and compare it yourselves. Yes, there are still private servers I could go to, but that doesn't mean they are private servers that I want to play. New Horizons? No, that is the one expansion I despise the most. Yet, people only desire the latest and shiniest toys. My ways are old and forgotten. There is no place for me anymore. And so, I ran away. I ran to a better place where I could get the PvP I wanted, the 1v1 I wanted, the balance I wanted. Swordsman Online was my tomorrow. Or so I thought. Swordsman Online at it's core is a great game. The 1v1 is extremely balanced, with only skill involved, no luck needed. It had an arena system that allowed people of any gear level to fight on equal grounds. It is even an eSport in China. The only reason I didn't start recording more of this game earlier was because while the 1v1s are fun to play, they can be boring to watch. So I wanted to reserve my videos exclusively to mass pvp. However, that is where my praise ends. While Swordsman Online is great for 1v1, it has a terrible system for world PvP. All the mechanics that sounds great on paper and works well in 1v1 turns mass pvp into an unplayable mess where the best way to kill people is to use Lost Arts - very powerful skills that any class can learn if they got the money to get them. For that reason, I had no videos to release for the longest time as I was a pure arena player and did exclusively 1v1s. Kind of ironic in a way, being the complete opposite of Perfect World. If you played Swordsman Online, you would know what is going on. If not, you could check out my discontinued tutorial at ZswTV ( / zswtv ) to get a brief idea of what's happening. This video was recorded no more than a few weeks ago vs Lash in Way of the Dragon x-server PvP. Yet even now, it seems like less and less people from Lash are interested in fighting us. Ah, I wish that I could've released more videos before my time is up. After this, where would I go? Most likely Blade and Soul or Black Desert Online. Who knows, we will just have to wait and see Tomorrow. Feel free to join me on Swordsman if you want. Or just wait until the new games come out. Until then, I hope you enjoy the video.
