🔶11 - Boundedness and Monotonicity of a Functions | Increasing and Decreasing Function In this video, we are going to discuss the boundedness and monotonicity of a function. Boundedness A function is said to be bounded if it has an upper bound and a lower bound. for example, the range of a function, f(x) = [5,6] is bounded above by 6,7,8,9....and bounded below by 5,4,3,2.... Since it has an upper and lower bound, such a function is bounded. Monotonicity A function is monotonic if it is either increasing or decreasing, 1. a function is increasing if f'(x) is greater than 0 2. a function is decreasing if f'(x) is less than 0 We shall solve a lot of examples in this video. 00:00 - Bounded Functions 01:00 - Bounded Functions Ex 1 05:41 - Bounded Functions Ex 2 10:14 - Monotonic Functions 13:30 - Monotonic Functions Ex 1 22:32 - Monotonic Functions Ex 2 Visit channel Playlist for more videos on Engineering mathematics, applied electricity and Basic Mechanics.
