Top Success Strategies for STEM Students (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Programming)

This video is an overview of some of my favorite success strategies for helping students succeed in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) courses, programming courses, and college courses in general. This is also Lecture 1 of the introduction to engineering course. I am often asked questions about how to succeed in STEM and programing, and this video aims to be an updated summary of tips and advice from workshops I've given, students I've taught, and my own experience. We begin by covering the most common mistakes I see students make, and then cover the strategies fairly quickly in order to fit the information into a 1 hour lecture. Some of the strategies may be familiar while others new to you. You can also jump to specific strategies using the chapters. I hope you find these helpful! Many of these are things I wish I knew when I was a student. Disclaimer: The strategies we cover have helped many students, but I recommend that you experiment to figure out what approaches work best for you. Everyone is unique and there is no one-size-fits all approach which guarantees success.
