The campaign, according to Ambo, is a vital step in the ongoing struggle to protect the rights, identity, and constitutional safeguards of the indigenous Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities in Arunachal Pradesh. Expressing deep concern over the alleged misuse of constitutional provisions by non-APST individuals, Ambo emphasized the need for collective civic action and heightened public vigilance. He highlighted two key demands of the campaign: 1. Unhindered Access to RTI – Ambo pointed out that some authorities are denying individuals the right to access personal documents under the RTI framework, which undermines transparency and accountability. 2. Empowering CBOs for ILP Inspections – The campaign also seeks to authorize Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) to conduct unannounced Inner Line Permit (ILP) checks, a measure aimed at safeguarding indigenous identity and land rights. Ambo urged the media to play a proactive role in spreading awareness about the petition and mobilizing public support for this cause.
