Contact tmosso@thewatchbox.com for pricing and availability; Either I have it, or I can get it! Tim Mosso is planning a return to luxury watch collecting, but thanks to a global audience of viewers and avid watch buyers, Tim has no shortage of ideas. From grand complications to simple dress watches, from dive watches to pilot’s watches, Tim reviews the enormous range of suggestions that our audience of watch collectors has suggested over the last seven months. Rolex, Omega, and IWC are among the mainstream brands that have been suggested. Rolex’s Sea-Dweller 4000, the reference 116600, received considerable love from our channel’s viewers. While Tim loves the late great Sea-Dweller 40, he has a strong preference for the wacky 116400GV Milgauss Z-Blue. But where Omega watches are concerned, the audience hit the bullseye, and Tim adores the suggestion that he add a Speedmaster Moonwatch Grey Side Of The Moon (311.93.44.51.99.002). The grey ceramic chronograph is a longtime favorite of Tim’s and he has come to appreciate the durability of ceramic watches. At the entry-level, our viewers suggest that Tim target his longtime goal, the Omega Speedmaster X-33. Sports watches aside, one student of 1990s horology suggested that Tim add the sublime salmon dial Omega De Ville Jump-Hour from 1998. IWC’s awesome Grand Complication reference 3770 receives love from our fans, and Tim agrees; this is the grail watch and his historic favorite from among IWC’s modern watch production. With a platinum IWC Grand Complication in stock at Watchbox, Tim is tempted to harvest the low-hanging fruit – fruit that includes a platinum case, a chronograph, an aventurine moonphase, a perpetual calendar, and automatic movement in a wearable 42mm case. Independent watch brands have their day as Tim receives suggestions that he buy his longtime independent brand grail watch, the De Bethune DB28 Digitale jump hour. This 45mm titanium monster with floating lugs and baroque guilloche dial fits like a dream and looks like a dream watch. With a five-day power reserve, blued titanium cosmos atop the dial, and a moon phase accurate to 1,112 years, the DB28 Digitale can be considered a watch buyer’s dream come true. Indeed, the De Bethune Digitale exhausts superlatives, but with a retail price of $108,000, Tim isn’t sure about several years of watch buying budget on a single timepiece. HYT watches rank equal with De Bethune on Tim’s list of favorite independent brand watches. The H20’s lugless 51mm case is a perfect match for even Tim’s small wrist, and the Audemars Piguet Renaud et Papi caliber H210 appeals deeply to our host’s love of high horology. Immaculate movement finish in the finest Swiss tradition, an 8-day power reserve, and a hydro-fluidic regulator retrograde time display place the HYT H20 “Time is Fluid” limited edition in a class by itself; there is nothing like it within the watch industry. Pennsylvania watchmaker RGM’s model 801-AS “Aircraft” pilot-style watch receives love from the audience and Tim alike. And if not for its yawning 46.5mm titanium case, the Sinn EZM 10 TESTAF likely would already be on Tims wishlist. These are the most interesting watches that you told Tim to buy!
