BHANGRA BEAT REVISITED 1/100 THE MUSIC AS IT HAPPENED BY THE PEOPLE WHO MADE IT If you’re enjoying the shows, please consider helping the channel grow (through uploading the original programmes and funding new ones), by buying me a coffee at, https://ko-fi.com/bhangrabeatrevisited Can I also mention that we’ve just started a merch store to raise funds for new productions, here it is https://bhangra-beat-revisited.creato... At the moment our store only features tee shirts etc., of Surj Sahota from original Bhangra Beat video material. Let me know what you think (good or bad) and maybe the artists you would like to see featured on future merch. It all started here! Bhangra Beat’s gonna get you! Or - Where are your Bhangra Cassettes? THE ONE WITH...live Bhangra music (aided with a little post synch), featuring The Sahotas and DCS. The Time - 1991 The Tracks - The Sahotas, Bhangra Pow, Chal Bailer, Buller Buller. DCS, Tir Chadya and Bhangra’s Gonna Get You. The Venue - The Dome Nightclub Birmingham and an extravaganza of classic Bhangra madness. Were you there! Enjoy the first half of the first Bhangra Beat TV programme, which originally aired on the UK ITV Nighttime slot, back in 1991. Since his group supplied the programmes opening theme (Ajaa, Ajaa, Ajaa), it’s very appropriate that the very first Bhangra Beat interview features Surj Sahota. Moey Hassan then takes Danny Choranji by surprise and has a chat with the fans, while Monica takes a look at why Bhangra was so under represented in the UK charts at that time. It's been a pleasure to revisit this programme and thanks to Amarjit Sidhu for promoting the event and making it all happen, in the first place. So were you there, if so, did BHANGRA get you! Let us have your memories. I have tried to give proceedings a timely context through additional captions and credits. Thanks also to Moviebox, Kamraan, Surj and Mukhtar Sahota, Shin and Danny. If you enjoy viewing these shows please give a thumbs up, subscribe and hit the bell and I’ll keep them coming. Enjoy watching, any comments gratefully received. Best regards, Raagshify.
