Implant One abutments are easily removed from implants with the Abutment Extractor Tool. Here's how: 1. Remove the fixation screw a. Unscrew fixation screw with .050” tapered hex driver b. Turn the fixation screw until it disengages the threads of the implant. You will feel it clicking when this happens. c. Apply downward force on the hex driver to wedge it firmly into the screw head d. Gently lift up the driver while rotating it counter-clockwise to engage the screw in the internal threads of the abutment e. Finish unscrewing the screw out of the abutment 2. Extract the abutment a. Screw in the Abutment Extractor tool as far as it will go b. Continue to drive the tool to release the abutment from the tapered connection c. The abutment is now easily pulled out of the implant
