I made a bicycle cable actuated Pan/Tilt head for a jib crane. The jib crane was based on an example demonstrated by OliviaTech.com. • Видео The pan/tilt head frame is constructed by 2" flat stock that hinges in the middle. the top section is 1/8" thick and the bottom half is 1/16" thick. at the hinges are cable pulleys from bicycles for making sharp angles to brakes or derailleurs. The cable housing runs through the lower jib arm internally and the cables are fixed via post bolts. I drilled holes in the post bolts to pass the cables through, and the bolts pinch the cables in the tubular nuts. The lever is 7/8" diameter tubing covered in an Oury grip. at the base of the tube are 3 fender washers spaced apart by 2 bicycle headset spacers. there are holes drilled into the top and bottom fender washers to pass the cables through until the cable head is seated. The cables then travel through the lever mount plate into the housings which articulate panning with a twisting action on the lever. An identical cable retention mechanism is fixed to the lever mount plate at its pivot point and the cables enter housings at the lower jib mount to articulate tilting with a push pull action on the lever. If the audio is not muted, the tune is an instrumental version of this: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/eye... Ultimately I intend to install rails, a motor and belt from Servocity.com and put another handle on the rear of the jib with a rocker switch for follow focus... I may also hang a dimmable LED panel off the bottom of the head to compensate for low light. But the first order of business is to get http://www.lilliputlcd.com/2011/03/04... mounted so I can frame the image and see if I am in focus. I only wish the Lumix link would handle streaming video, since it can control manual focus for focus pulling... it would also be cool to use an iPad as a monitor. It would also be cool if I could hook up an external touch screen since that would also be liberating. I would be happy if Lumix link had a functional bulb mode. I also made a buddy a motorized version... • MOTORIZED PAN TILT • jib build and assemble
