Astrophotography ADVENTURE: Tracking, Stacking, and Stitching Night Sky Images

Hello there, folks! How’s it going? I hope you’re all enjoying your Sunday! Welcome back to another video. It’s been a long time since I’ve been out photographing the night sky, but this week, we’re fixing that! In this video, I’m doing something new: tracking, stacking, and stitching images together. I had a good understanding of what was required to put these types of images together, and I’m thrilled with the results I achieved. Using the powerful iOptron SkyGuider Pro along with my Batis 18mm F2.8 lens, I captured a whole bunch of images. It was such great fun—scary too! 😛 I’ve included some tips and tricks so you can head out and capture these kinds of shots yourself. In a nutshell, I took a few foreground images which I blended in Photoshop, then set up the tracker to capture the Milky Way in all its glory. I stacked the images in Sequator and blended them all together to create the final image. I’m super lucky to be in the southwest of Portugal, where the sky gets pretty dark (Bortle 3). In the summertime, we’re treated to the Milky Way core all night. This experience was fantastic and made me realise I absolutely need to learn more.
