Today is all about learning the Fenix A320 — from cold and dark setup to mastering the MCDU, understanding onboard systems, and running through test flights (left-handed!) to really get comfortable with the aircraft’s flow and logic. We’ll break down: Initial cockpit setup & power-up sequence MCDU programming & flight planning basics Airbus flight control philosophy & protections Autopilot, FCU & managed vs selected modes Practical test circuits to build confidence After training, we’ll preview our VATSIM Thursday route — flying the A320 from Salt Lake City (KSLC) to Portland (KPDX) — covering routing, expected procedures, and what to watch out for on the network.
