I always enjoy a good Alpine Coaster, and Frankenbob is no exception. It's fairly long, and I like that it starts off immediately and ends with the lift, rather than having the long lift first, but obviously that's just a function of the terrain. It does take a while to get back up to the exit though, so part of me wishes you could get out at the bottom and take a chairlift or something back up. One downside to Alpine Coasters is that you're at the mercy of how slowly the person in front of you is going, and I had a handful of rides ruined by coming up on riders that were braking so heavily they were barely moving at all (trying to wait longer at the start to leave extra space can't help when people go that slow). You have to be careful though because this is the 1st generation model and does not automatically brake you to maintain distance. (I did trim off the exceedingly long lift back up to the top as I figured most folks wouldn't want to watch that. If you really really want to see the full ride experience, comment below, and if there's enough demand, I'll post the whole thing.) Frankenbob is located at Erlebnisfelsen Pottenstein, a theme park located about an hour northeast of Nuremberg, Germany. I had the opportunity to visit on Saturday July 2, 2022 as part of a 3-week Germany coastering megatrip. It's not a big park, with really just the three Wiegand rides, but if you're going to be in the area, it's worth a quick stop. For more of my thoughts on the park and rides, check out my Twitter thread from that day: / 1543136370608070657 And stay tuned for more videos from my trip coming soon!
