Here’s a video I’ve had in the vault for a while and somehow never uploaded—until now! Back in March 2024, South Western Railway marked 40 years of the Class 455 by doing something special: repainting Unit 455868 in its original British Rail Blue livery, bringing a splash of heritage back to the rails. A fitting tribute to these hardworking units that have served the network for decades. 📍 This video features footage from: London Waterloo Wimbledon Onboard between Norbiton and New Malden (via the Kingston Loop on 13th April 2024) It’s fantastic to see these reliable workhorses finally getting the recognition they deserve—especially as they continue to operate while the new Class 701s roll out at a snail’s pace.
