While plenty of West Australians have enjoyed the experience of the sultry style of a New York jazz club, not so many are aware of a new music venue that has quietly launched on to the Perth music scene. On Thursday nights the cosy, intimate vibe of the traditional New York jazz club has arrived on Beaufort Street with the launch of The Playroom, housed within the stylish Malt Supper Club. The Playroom opened its doors in July and has been bringing some of the best of Australia’s jazz musicians to play in the classy surrounds of the 100-seat venue.
