My brother was visiting recently and I was grateful for the opportunity to spend some time in the kitchen with him. One of the dishes we cooked was an amazing flatbread pizza, with this jaw dropping homemade sauce we created together. Honestly, it's the best pizza sauce I've ever had, and I've had a lot of pizza! Ingredients: 10-12 Roma Tomatoes 1 Small to medium sweet onion 1-2 small sweet peppers 6 Cloves Black Garlic 1 Bunch of fresh Basil 1 Bunch of fresh Oregano 1/4 Cup olive Oil 1 1/2 Tbsp Red Wine Vinegar 2-3 Tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice Salt Pepper Method: 1. Half the tomatoes and peppers, quarter the onion, and add all the them to a baking sheet. 2. Cover lightly with olive oil and broil on High for at 40-45 minutes, or until deeply charred. 3. Add the garlic cloves and the rest of the oil to a saucepan over medium low heat until garlic can be easily broken down with a wooden spatula. 4. Add the charred vegetable to the saucepan, and simmer for 15-20 minutes. 5. Wash and remove stems from the herbs. 6. Blend the sauce until smooth, add fresh herbs, and blend again just to break up the herbs. 7. Season the sauce with the remaining ingredients and continue simmer to reduce the sauce for four hours while stirring every 10-15 minutes. 8.
