CP Rail, BNSF on CN 537 and Prairie Dog Central - Trains Around Winnipeg Ep. 17

Welcome back to another episode of the super infrequent 'Trains Around Winnipeg' series ! The first train we saw was CP 100 heading eastbound out of the city at Manson Jct. It was lead by ES44AC 8743, had 'Dual Flags' AC44CW 8638 in the middle and ES44AC 8884 trailing on the tail end. The next train was at the other end of the city, CP 540 with AC44CWM 8124 on the head end with what seems to have been a blown turbocharger? It was smoking pretty bad, lol. The next train we fumbled catching on the old Oak Point Sub, but caught at the old SOO Line mills on Higgins Ave. It was CN 537 with not one but two BNSF GEVOs! BNSF 6409 and 8194, GE ES44AC and C4's respectively, lead their train east and southward towards the CN yard. 537 is one of if not the coolest train operations in the Winnipeg area. It's a BNSF train, operated by CN for the most part on CP Rail trackage. BNSF has a contract with Paterson Grain at Lilyfield, but no track to get to it from their US system. CN takes BN/BNSF grain cars from CN trackage over CP's, and onto CN's last remaining (active) portion of the oak point subdivision to the elevator. Later we headed back to the west end for Prairie Dog Central, who were taking cars from CP up to Warren for storage! Havent seen their freight operation for a little while now. We caught them at Paterson Rd as SD40 5232 'Cameron' and GP9 4138 made their way north.
