Thank you for watching our video. In this feature, we take a look at the TransPennine Express 'NOVA3,' a train I've wanted to ride since its introduction in 2019. It's a rare sight in modern Britain—a train composed of a diesel locomotive and carriages. Apart from sleeper trains, it's been a while since we've seen a newly constructed carriage train in the UK. This short trip takes us from York, a central city in Yorkshire, to Scarborough, a coastal resort town, in about an hour. Despite being a carriage train, it boasts many modern improvements. The interior features USB power outlets, LCD monitors, and automated announcements. The wood-grain design on the decks and tables provides a calming atmosphere. The NOVA3 is a very comfortable train, but it has one major issue. Just after we took this trip, it was announced that the NOVA3 would be withdrawn in December 2023. Why? We'll delve into that in the next episode!
