When we proceed with the operation 2 weeks later, I bring the photographs with me to the operating room. When the patient is asleep, I create the pockets for the implants on each of the breasts, and I use implant sizers to confirm the volume and shape of the optimal breast implants for the patient. Having operated on thousands of breasts, I estimate very well what size will look best on a patient. Even so, I still prefer to try out breast implants before I make the final decision on size and shape. It takes me longer to do the procedure when I use this thorough system, but I sleep well at night knowing that I’ve done the best I can for each patient. How Long Is Recovery After Breast Augmentation? Most patients are back to work and most of their usual routine in several days. Strenuous exercise should be avoided for several weeks.
