We were delighted to invite our NPH Ethnic Minority Steering Group to celebrate the launch of the Northern Powerhouse Ethnic Minority Business Barometer 2024 which was hosted by Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE DL and held at The UK House of Lords in London. Upon entering, our steering group members were given the wonderful opportunity to network with each other before the floor opened to our director Sharon Kaur Jandu OBE, who had the joy of reinforcing the objectives and beliefs of the Barometer before introducing host Lord Bilimoria CBE DL, who had the pleasure of welcoming everyone to this special occasion. As the afternoon progressed, guests were grateful to listen to speeches delivered by, Canon Simon Baldwin, FEEUK, Associate Director of The Knowledge Exchange (TKE) at Leeds Beckett University, Karen French, Partner for Real Estate at Squire Patton Boggs, Philip J J Turnbull, CEO of Association of International Accountants (AIA), Sanjeet Bajwa, Director for Business Consulting at EY, Jennie Holdstock, Trade and Investment Manager for West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Nathan Stephenson, Travel, Trade and Community Engagement Executive for Leeds Bradford Airport, Prof Mohammad Faisal Ahammad, Head of International Business Department at Leeds University Business School and Kashif Ashraf, Member of the Public Sector Reform Board at Oldham Council. The floor was then passed to Kiran Trehan, Pro-Vice Chancellor Partnerships and Engagement, Professor of Entrepreneurship for the University of York, who gave an update as well as explain how we have been able to build upon the research of last year to secure that this barometer has been able to expand its range. To close out the launch, the floor was passed to Mohammed Hussain, Managing Director at Pink Elephant Sales & Lettings Ltd who delivered a vote of thanks.
