Number 17 in a daily series using the themes from the Hardware Jams group for Jamuary, today's jam was to represent music inspired by a pet. Sophia was a precious member of the Oliva family from 2008 when she adopted us, until her untimely death on June 18, 2016 due to complications from a heart condition. This song is an (attempted) cover of the song "Oh, Sophia, Go," written about Sophia by my son Michael (who was the one who started feeding Sophia when she found him.) The original song was released by his band (The Harlequins) on their 2009 album "Baron von Headless" which is available on Apple Music. Sophia was a gentle soul and will be missed. This was a big undertaking to try to learn a song and record all the parts in half a day, and it shows as I messed up about every transition possible, but this is just a jam, not a production masterpiece, so be kind, and check out the original at / oh-sophia-go Instruments: Kurzweil K2700 (Drums) Moog Muse (Bass) Moog Matriarch (Guitar) Effects: Valhalla Supermassive Moog MF104S Delay Mr. Wiggly's Incinerator Oh, Sophia Go Copyright © 2009 Michael Brian Oliva (ASCAP) Published ℗ 2009 Getsemani Music (ASCAP) #hardware_jams #petitevictorycollective #moogsynthesizers #bemoreinky #jamuary2026
