Up for sale in our Orlando showroom is this purple people eating 1951 Studebaker Commander Starlight Coupe. The Starlight coupe for sale was a unique (to say the least) 2-door body style offered by Studebaker Corporation from 1947-1952 in its Champion and Commander model series. This particular Commander for sale was outfitted in a crazy dark purple color that looks amazing on this unique styled car. For 1950 and 1951, all Studebakers received a freshening of the 1947 design with the addition of the "bullet nose" (sometimes referred to as the "spinner" front) front sheet metal; when combined with the Starlight body style, Studebakers looked extremely futuristic at the time. This version of the Starlight body style continued until the end of the 1952 model year when it was sold side by side to the Starliner version of the same models. Along with the build plant freshening up the sheet metal on this Studebaker, the previous owner did some freshening up of his own. The original engine was tossed for a majorly peppy 365 C.I.D V8 Cadillac engine. Attached to this stout little power plant is a the world renowned TH350 3 speed automatic transmission. The inclusion of front disk brakes was mandatory during the restoration along with making the brake system power. The interior was done in a black and silver tweed seats, black and silver door panel and dark graphite grey dash. Sitting on Boyd Cottington wheels this Commander for sale commands attention anywhere it pulls up.
