Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and soon, the Next Generation Car! Early morning flight with views inside 1/2 of the West Side of the main factory, the Northeast corner of the casting machine section & the north end of the Cathode building & parts of the new south extension! I drove up early because of the forecast heavy rains, storms and high winds, but fortunately they held off long enough for a full flight! I'm glad they did because we also got to see Boring Company crews at work disassembling the Prufrock-3 TBM this morning! The aft casing for the TBM was removed, exposing the hydraulic pistons and other machinery inside, while the screw-type conveyor system was placed on the ground nearby, under tarps. all the Gantries were located nearby as well, and a crane was positioned to continue to disassembly process. Timestamps: Drone flight overview with discussion & illustration: 0:06 to 1:57 Drone flight footage & infographics: 2:13 to 31:47 At the initial tunneling site, crews were also busy disassembling more of the supporting equipment, while liner trucks were standing by to most likely take in more of the roadway surface concrete sections to continue to construction process to allow Cybertrucks to drive through the tunnel sometime in July! In the video introduction, IU discuss the forecasted severe weather coming through the area, possibly leading to flooding concerns, so I hope everyone in the south Texas area remains safe through the storm. I also mention the Prufrock-3 location on the site thanks to Patreon Dessie Doolan who noticed it in my previous video, and I proved some additional updates on Cybertruck and 4680 Battery production provided by Tesla at the Shareholders meeting last week. As for some additional highlights from today’s flight, we star with extensive interior views of large portions of the main factory, particularly the third and second floors along the west side, from the main entrance northwards. I also got the chance to get views into the casting machine section, but most of what we could see was obstructed by significant construction and changes inside as compared to my previous flight earlier this year. Office and/or workshop space has been and is being added along the north and northeast interior sections of the structure, while additional gantry cranes, equipment and materials further fills the once nearly empty space! Some of the Giga Presses were visible on the west bay, while the furnace collectors have been installed but the flue pipes were not yet extended up to the roof for ventilation. We also see, on the east side of the casting machine area, crews continue to work on the new concrete foundation for the external bag house filtration plant. We also see steel superstructure being assembled on the south end of the new slab, and we should soon see these erected and attached to the visible mounts in the concrete foundation! On the south end, crews were working quickly on the cooling structural platform, with most of the superstructure FRP installed, many of the exterior panels installed, and now three of the eventual six roof fan units and cooling towers installed. On the ground, we see crews working in a large trench that had two huge cooling pipes entering from the south extension. I suspect this work will continue to connect these pipes to the cooling plant.
