This miraculously strong temple complex has survived several volcanic eruptions and encases a central stone that is regarded a natural holy place since the ancient of times. Grand stone serpent dragons, winged and crowned flank the full length of stairs that ascend the holy Mother Temple. Streaming with a river of pilgrims. I am grateful to be accompanied by our friends a local priest of the temple and his priestess wife. Wet with holy water, rice pressed into my forehead and petals strewn in my hair. I am drawn to sit up in the crest of the dragons wings, right in amidst all the movement and bustle of the people. There is a lightness of spirit in the air and the children and women smile as they pass me by. The song that arises is a joyous and feather footed dragonline that stretches out across the continent and celebrates the renewal of life. Everything in natural order. Even the rooster crows in time. As I sing the space opens up into an exquisite peace. Where the hum of all the accumulated prayers ascends sky bound like the buzz of insects into the aether. Life on earth must be lived and kept in balance and harmony. Harmony between Human and God. Harmony with one another. I taught myself to sing, sitting on the Earth, with vast horizon lines and immense desert starscapes. I create music as new myth, infusing sound with themes of hope and empowerment. Singing in new stories that assist in smashing through old paradigms of perception. Blending ancient & primal song, divine vocal frequencies with organic beats, totemic bass and sacred world instrumentation. Together with my husband and co producer, Hamilton Barnett, (and our children) we tour internationally to transformational festivals sharing our music that traverses World Bass, World Electronic Dance, Tribal and Organic Downtempo. We have performed at festivals including Sonic Bloom, Symbiosis, Envision, Beloved, Wanderlust, Atmosphere, Burning Man, Luminate, Enchanted Forest, Bali Spirit Fest and Earth Frequency to mention a few. For the last 4 years I have been called to return to the origins of my music making, to record Earth songs on the energy lines around the planet. I call it the - Planetary Grid Music Collection - an artistic exploration of sound mapping with the voice, field recording in nature and connecting with the Earth's energetic system. The Planetary Grid songs are live location recordings sung in direct response to the natural landscape. Being in a state of deep listening with Mother Earth, with our living breathing planet - Gaia.
