A PROPOS DE LA COLLECTION IKAAH (et pourquoi le Japonais et le kimono): Pour cette collection, je me suis inspirée de l'un de mes tous premiers voyages sur un autre continent: les arts des Indiens d’Amérique, en particulier des peintures de sable Navajo. Et après mon voyage au Japon, j'ai décidé d'utilisé des perles japonaises Miyuki, pour broder mes bijoux de laiton doré. L’association de ces deux pays si éloignés et pourtant si proches est une ode au thème de l’exploration et de la découverte. On dit que certaines légendes Chinoises puis Japonaises auraient traversées les continents à l’époque où l’Extrême Orient était relié à l’ouest de l’Amérique du Nord. En hommage à l’histoire de l’exploration de l’Ouest Américain, les bijoux portent des noms Indiens provenant de différentes tribus peuplant le territoire américain, Navajo, Zuni, Hopi, Cherokee, Sioux… Je vous invite à suivre leurs pas et à explorer avec moi ce territoire encore sauvage et plein de mystères. --- ENG Episode 3 : Discover my creative process ! ABOUT IKAAH COLLECTION (and why Japanese and the kimono): For this collection, I drew inspiration from one of my very first trips to another continent: the arts of Native Americans, particularly the Navajo sand paintings. And after my journey to Japan, I decided to incorporate Japanese Miyuki beads to embroider my golden brass jewelry. The combination of these two countries, so distant yet so connected, is an ode to the theme of exploration and discovery. It is said that certain Chinese and Japanese legends traveled across continents during a time when the Far East was connected to the western part of North America. As a tribute to the history of the exploration of the American West, the jewelry bears Native American names from various tribes inhabiting the American territory, such as Navajo, Zuni, Hopi, Cherokee, Sioux, and more.
