El-Kef : festival «mayou» As far as I am concerned one of the most beautiful places in Tunisia is El-Kef . It is a wonderful city situated in northwestern of tunisia .It was known by the name of « Sicca Vineria » during the Cartheginian era. As all the Tunisian cities, El-Kef is rich with a huge culture as we can find museums ,mosques, churches and other historical sites all around, It rejoices tourists and visitors with its wonderful sights. In the 28th of April , I had the opportunity to visit the most famous festival in this region «mayou »and discover the typical traditions from music to food especially « borzgan » : traditional keffish couscous : they made it with nuts , dattes and meat . This festival was in kasbah : it is a fort which was constracted during the othman rule. It was an incredible festival that people all around tunisia came to it to enjoy themselves with dancing without thinking , eating « borzgan » , discovering new traditions ,meeting other people and enjoying the atmosphere .
