Hey all, it's been a while since I posted! This week's kusudama, Tangerine, is a novice-level kusudama that is based on the popular Sonobe kusudama model. It's squishy and flexible, very fun to play with! Folding Difficulty: 🌕🌗🌑🌑🌑 Assembly Difficulty: 🌕🌕🌑🌑🌑 Paper Size: square, 7cm x 7cm (can vary) Units: 30 (3 per vertex) Model Height: 3.5in Model Strength: 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑 Tips: For assembly, it is often easy to insert each model a little bit, and then push them together (refer to the video). The word originates from Japanese, meaning "medicine ball". The first stage in making kusudama is to fold 4, 6, 12, or, usually, 30 identical modules. Then, you assemble them into one big platonic solid, usually a dodecahedron or icosahedron. The result is a sturdy kaleidoscopic sphere that contains beautiful geometrical patterns.
