The attorneys representing Patrick Lyoya's family revealed affidavits in support of their lawsuit filed against the City of Grand Rapids and former police officer Christopher Schurr on Monday. During their press conference, attorneys Ben Crump and Ven Johnson allege Schurr racially profiled Lyoya, and used excessive force. New court documents filed Friday show the case now includes testimony from two law enforcement experts: a Florida officer and instructor, and a retired Michigan police chief. Both testified that Schurr did not have reason to pull Lyoya over, according to documents.
