I then wondered what it could sound like orchestrated. I pretty much became fixed on this idea for hours after that and couldn't stop experimenting and working on it! I wanted to keep the somewhat disturbing and spooky vibes of the original, while introducing an element of power and might using percussion and brass. My original plan was to exclude a harpsichord altogether, but I realised the feel of the original was lost too much by doing this. I did quite a lot of experimentation with reverb this time. You might notice that the piano at the start and at 1:37 has this dark echo that evolves and moves texturally for example (interestingly, there are actually 2 pianos across the entire piece). There were a few other small little tricks I tried to play with such as exploiting the Haas Effect when adding delays. Part of the fun of orchestrating a Danganronpa track is working out what tricks to use to keep the feel of the original while using orchestral instruments. As always, thanks a lot for watching!
