BUILDING THE POOL BATHING AREA!

Now the huge tree is finally down, we have the mammoth task of cutting it up into more manageable pieces. We've been told it won't make very good firewood so for now we're going to store it behind the stables and worry about it another day. Some of the bits of wood will be suitable for projects but first it'll need to dry out for a couple of years. However, before we get stuck into cutting up the tree, we wanted to take advantage of the unusually warm weather for October to make more progress on the natural pool. We dug new footings for a small wall and then settled into the task of mixing the huge amount of concrete needed to pour the concrete footings and a concrete pad that will one day be the shallows as we call it. A sort of shallow bathing area for kids and adults to relax. Even though it's a natural pool, we thought it would be nice to tile this area to make it feel nicer underfoot and add a nice blue touch to the overall design. A bit about us - We are Chris (the tall one) and Jolyon (the less tall one). We met working at the Foreign Office, and got married in another Château south of Paris in 2018. We have both always separately had a dream of living in a Château, so it was a match made in heaven. We also have our gorgeous St Bernard, Bo, - she loves Château Trois Cloches, and can regularly be seen working in the garden, digging, or moving branches for us. The end goal is to have a beautiful venue available for big groups to hire, or the perfect location for a wedding!
