Across the Greater Horn of Africa, women continue to build peace from the shadows: mediating conflicts, holding communities together, and shaping futures, often without recognition or power. “From the Margins to the Forefront: Elevating Women’s Roles in Decision-Making and Peacebuilding Processes”, is the build-up session to the conclusion of SIHA Network’s #ItsNotYourFault campaign series, held on October 23, 2025. This dialogue created a platform to amplify the power of women in critical decision making and driving sustainable peace outcomes. Gathering perspectives from Uganda, Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia and Somaliland, the conversation brought to light how entrenched patriarchal systems and political exclusion continue to silence women’s participation in governance and peace efforts. Discussions highlighted: 🟢 The structural and political forces silencing women’s voices in peace and governance; 🟢 The courage of grassroots women peacebuilders leading transformative change in fragile contexts; and 🟢 The urgent need for policies and institutions that genuinely include women in decision-making. The message was clear: peace built without women is peace built on fragile ground. Real transformation demands feminist leadership, accountability, and solidarity across borders. 📣 Watch, share and be part of the movement to bring women’s leadership from the margins to the forefront. #ItsNotYourFault
