In this episode of Ocean Talks, I interview Dr. Yannis P. Papastamatiou. Yannis is specializes in predator behavioral and physiological ecology. We take a look at several pieces of footage I've compiled over the years and discuss the behaviors from the perspective of a predator/prey behaviorist. About Dr. Papastamatiou: Dr. Yannis Papastamatiou has studied the biology of sharks and other predatory fishes for 15 years, and published nearly 50 scientific articles in these topic areas. Papastamatiou is an Associate Professor at Florida International University (FIU) where he is currently studying the physiological and behavioral ecology of marine predators. He co-leads the Predator Ecology and Conservation lab at the university. Papastamatiou has experience in all forms of telemetry--including acoustic, satellite and data-loggers--and has used his expertise to study the behavior and physiology of sharks around the world.
