Heavy Rain & Wintry Threats For the Carolinas

Rounds of heavy rain will move across the mountains of Western North Carolina and parts of the Upstate of South Carolina through Saturday afternoon. The rain could create some minor flooding, mostly low-lying and poor-drainage areas. Rain totals by end of day Saturday will range from the lower end of 1", to the higher end of 3-4" for places in the southern Appalachians. Colder air will flood in on Sunday, dropping highs from the 60s Saturday, down to the 30s Sunday afternoon! Next week will bring more active weather, especially by Wednesday/Thursday. Colder air will return and there is the possibility of some moisture syncing up with it to produce some snow in WNC.
