The 5 WORST Foods You Can Eat If You’re Over 50 (AVOID THESE!)

Today I’m going to cover the 5 WORST FOODS you can eat if you’re a man over 50. But I’m also going to share a little secret with you at the end of the video that will at least minimize a lot of the damage these foods can do. How am I deciding what foods are the worst? Mainly these foods lower testosterone levels. That’s the last thing you want your diet to do because that impacts how much muscle you can build and how much fat you can lose. It impacts your energy, sex drive, all of that. Avoid the following foods. Food #1: SOY. You might not think you eat soy, but it’d be wise to check your protein shakes and the protein bars you consume. It’s even in beef jerky sometimes. It is a source of protein. But studies show it lowers testosterone levels in men, even young men. Food #2: MILK. Cows are pumped with estrogenic hormones, eat estrogenic feed. And that makes its way into the milk you drink. When your estrogen levels get too high, it lowers your testosterone levels and can cause man boobs. I like to drink almond milk as an alternative. Food #3: TRANS-FATS. These are fried foods you’ll find at fast food joints. They’re also in foods like cookies and crackers. These fats increase inflammation in the body. And when your inflammation levels are high, your body doesn’t produce as much testosterone because it’s too busy trying to fix the damage these foods cause in the body. Food #4: PROCESSED SUGAR. One study found men of all ages drop T-levels 25% after having a sugar packed treat or soda. Now, not all sugar is bad. The focus is on the processed stuff. Natural sugars from fruits, for example, are fine. Try to find sugar swaps that you can replace the processed stuff with. For example, instead of candy, eat blueberries and some nuts. Food #5: ALCOHOL. Don’t shoot the messenger. And you’ll see behind me, that I don’t mind having a drink every once in a while. Maybe once every week or two. Alcohol increases estrogen levels in men. It also makes it hard for your brain to release the building blocks your body needs to increase testosterone. Secret tip: I know it’s not always in the cards to avoid all this stuff. Even I don’t do it all the time. But there’s something you can do once per day that will help minimize the damage.
