Jonathan Fox a gold Paralympic swimmer went to my school (Brannel School) on the 28-9-12 and he was such an inspiring man to all the students and teachers teaching you to believe in yourself cause if you do, you can achieve anything. Here is an extract from BBC News South West, The swimmer from St Stephen, near St Austell, broke the world record in the heat for the 100m S7 backstroke at London 2012. He is visiting his former schools, Brannel school and Churchtown school, to talk about his experiences. Mr Fox, who trains in Manchester, has also visited his gold post box which commemorates his success. Mr Fox - who has cerebral palsy - was a regular at the beach growing up in Cornwall, something he said helped boost his sporting prowess. He previously swam for the Newquay Cormorants. Speaking of his win in the 100m S7 backstroke final, Mr Fox said: "I can remember the last 10 metres. "You can hear the crowd. They were so loud you could hear them underwater. It was just amazing." Mr Fox added his 2012 gold to the silver he won in the 100m Backstroke in Beijing in 2008. He has revealed he hopes to be in Rio in 2016, for his third Paralympic appearance. He said: "I am going to stay in Manchester for another four years to work closely with my coach for Rio. "It's a culture shock living in Manchester. But I love coming home to Cornwall." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-...
