The Future of Construction: Fastbrick Robotics Hadrian X

I going to talk about Fastbrick Robotics, and how they are going to change the construction industry. Fastbrick Robotics is an incredible company, and when I came across an article about them I thought it was one of the coolest things I’ve seen recently. What does Fastbrick Robotics do? Here’s from their website: “Fastbrick Robotics is an Australian robotic technology company developing and commercializing digital construction technology solutions. Fastbrick Robotics' revolutionary bricklaying machine Hadrian X represents the first application of the Company's underlying intellectual property portfolio. Hadrian X is a globally patented 3D robotic bricklaying system and marks the transition to dynamically stabilized robots operating outdoors in uncontrolled environments. Fastbrick Robotics is committed to improving the safety, speed, accuracy, cost and waste management in the global construction industry through utilizing the world's latest innovations in mobile robotic technology.” Will Fastbrick Robotics make the centuries old Masonry profession obsolete. Will the Hadrian X be common place on every construction site in world one day? Let’s find out! Welcome to NeoScribe, researching the future for you, so you don’t have to. If you’re new to my channel, I make videos about Space Exploration, Robotics and ALL things future, so if you’re interested in knowing how cool life will be in the future, then hit the subscribe button and notification bell so you don’t miss out. Fastbrick completed their first block printed house in 2015 with their first robot, the Hadrian 105. That have since improved on Hadrian 105 with the creation of the Hadrian X which can construct the walls of an average sized house in just two days! The Hadrian X has a multi-axis stabilization system which allows the blocks to be place down to the millimeter! Instead of using traditional brick rendering with cement, the Hadrian X brilliantly adds adhesive to the bricks which is much stronger and cleaner to use than cement. The Hadrian X is equipped with a CAD-CAM module, and a software plug-in that works with popular engineering design software, and this allows the robot to take a CAD design and create a structure with all the right bricks in the right place. Architectural design possibilities are almost limitless. Many structures that are simply too complicated to build today may be possible using the power of CAD-CAM and the Hadrian X robot. The Hadrian X will cost about $2 million when it goes into full production in 2019. It requires little human interaction and works day and night, laying up to 1,000 bricks an hour, which equals a whole days work of two human bricklayers! Since the announcement and demonstration of the Hadrian X, the demand for orders have been very high for Fastbrick. Fastbrick has a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Arabia for the construction of a minimum of 50,000 new home units by 2022. The US machinery giant Caterpillar invested $2 million in Fastbrick, with an option for a further $8 million. Caterpillar is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives. Caterpillar has global business relationships and revenues of $38.537 billion a year. A partnership with Caterpillar would all Fastbrick’s business to explode quickly in the next 10 years. I am going to go out on a limb and say that it is not a matter of if, but when will Fastbrick’s Hadrian X be on construction sites all over the world.
