DayZ 1.29 Update: NEW Items & Bunker Expansion Showcase

Update 1.29 is now live on Experimental, bringing several new additions and improvements to DayZ. We’re talking about new clothing items, an extension to the Sakhal bunker, and improved blending of terrain surfaces for a more natural look. Instead of just reading patch notes, let’s take a look at what we can actually expect in-game. One of the highlights is the new 64-slot Long Haul Backpack, offering high insulation and coming in four different variants. Hunters will also appreciate the new animal headwear. The Bear Hat and Fox Hat both provide top-tier insulation and can be crafted by cutting up a bear or a fox. There are also new additions for torso gear, expanding clothing options and survival flexibility. On Sakhal, the bunker has been expanded with a new entrance located to the left of the main one. Inside, the extension includes eight new rooms connected by a hallway, likely offering multiple loot spawn points and new exploration opportunities. So those are the main additions arriving with Update 1.29. Personally, I’m excited to test everything and see how gameplay evolves. The developers also mentioned server performance improvements of up to 400%, so it will be interesting to see how stability and performance improve once the update reaches stable servers.
