瑞龍寺は、富山県高岡市にある曹洞宗の仏教寺院。加賀藩二代藩主前田利長公の菩提を弔うため、三代藩主利常によって建立されました。利長は、加賀百万石を弟の利常に譲ったあと高岡に築城し、この地で亡くなります。 造営は正保年間から利長の五十回忌の寛文三年（1663年）までの約二十年の歳月を要しました。創建時の寺域は三万六千坪、周囲に壕を巡らし、まさに城郭の姿を想わせるものでした。瑞龍寺は、前田家の手厚い保護を受け、寺領300石を有する大寺ででした。 瑞龍寺は、利長が織田信長らの供養のため、文禄三年（1594年）金沢に創建した法円寺が前身です。利長死去の前年である慶長十八年（1613年）、高岡に移されました。現在も境内の奥に、前田利長、前田利家、織田信長、同室正覚院、織田信忠を祀る石廟が並んでいます。 仏殿、法堂、山門の三棟が、平成九年（1997年）に国宝に指定。これは富山県下における初の国宝指定で富山県唯一の国宝であります。また、総門、禅堂など重要文化財も多く、江戸初期の禅宗寺院建築として高く評価されています。平成二十七年（2015年）には、日本遺産にも認定されました。伽藍は、山門、仏殿、法堂が一直線に並び、左右対称に回廊を巡らし諸堂を配置。さらに、境内は青い芝で覆われて美しく参拝者を和ませてくれます。瑞龍寺は、北陸を代表する見逃してほしくない名刹のひとつです。 曹洞宗／国宝／日本遺産／富山県高岡市 ____________________________________________________ Zuiryu-ji Temple is a Buddhist temple of the Soto sect in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. The temple was built by Toshitsune Maeda, the third lord of the Kaga clan, to mourn the death of Toshinaga Maeda, the second lord of the Kaga clan. Toshinaga built a castle in Takaoka after handing over Kaga Hyakumangoku to his younger brother Toshinaga, and died there. The construction of the temple took about 20 years from the Shoho era to 1663, the 50th anniversary of Toshinaga's death. At the time of its construction, the temple area covered an area of 120,000㎡, and was surrounded by moat, reminiscent of a castle. Zuiryuji Temple was a large temple with a fief of 300 koku, which was generously protected by the Maeda family. The predecessor of Zuiryuji Temple was Hoenji Temple, which was built by Toshinaga in 1594 in Kanazawa as a memorial to Oda Nobunaga and others. In 1613, the year before Toshinaga's death, the temple was moved to Takaoka. Even today, there are stone mausoleums in the back of the precincts dedicated to Toshinaga Maeda, Toshiie Maeda, Nobunaga Oda, his wife Shokakuin, and Nobutada Oda. The Buddha Hall, the Dharma Hall and the Sanmon Gate, were designated as national treasures in 1997. This is the first national treasure designated in Toyama prefecture and the only national treasure in Toyama prefecture. In addition, there are many important cultural properties such as the main gate and Zen hall, and it is highly evaluated as a Zen Buddhist temple architecture in the early Edo period. In 2015, it was recognized as a Japan Heritage Site. The temple complex consists of the Sanmon gate, the Buddhist hall and the Main hall in a straight line, with the halls arranged in symmetrical corridors.
