Today here at MaJeliv we’re so excited to share this film with our teens in order for them to witness cinematic history and to discuss its unintentional biblical themes. As you watch this with us we hope you will watch with us for the first time as well. Remember that we (Jose and Jenny) love to find a way to educate and edify our young adults as we take these movies in. Some violent themes are always difficult to watch but the philosophical elements paired with the metaphysical make for higher level critical thinking opportunities for us. And YES! We’re also watching this for the cinematic breakthrough that this film was in its day. It broke new ground and paved the way for a new way of storytelling. Stick around for our commentary. Since we are a Catholic Christian family our thoughts are naturally affected by this perspective.
