Lecture on basalt crystallisation and phase diagrams from the 2nd year undergraduate igneous petrology and geochemistry course given at the University of Copenhagen in 2022/2023. The lectures are split into three roughly 30 min to 1 hour segments each week, covering key aspects of geochemistry and igneous petrology within the overall framework of different tectonic settings where magmas are produced on Earth. The lectures were accompanied by a field trip to Spain and a series of practical exercises that I refer to, but obviously can't be uploaded in the same way... I encourage students to interrupt and ask question, some of which may not be picked up well on the microphone, but I hope the answers will still be useful so I have no cut these parts out. Microphone quality may be a bit mixed in the first week but should improve from lecture 2.1 onwards.
