US Treasury Secretary admits role in creating Iran’s economic crisis

The US Treasury Secretary credited the Treasury’s economic “strategy” with sending the Iranian economy into a crisis in front of the Senate Banking Committee on Thursday. Scott Bessent said that by creating a dollar shortage, the Iranian currency “went into free fall,” which sparked a series of protests in December.
