Hi. Welcome to the Twitch Dry Needling video training series where I'll show you a fantastic dry needling technique followed by a manual therapy technique to get great results for your patients every time. These Dry Needling Techniques should only be applied by trained therapists who have completed an accredited course. Transcript Okay, what do you do with those patients with tension type headaches? Well of course you're going to be needling the cervical erector spinae, trapezius and get some great results for that. Of course you're going to work on the neck, but what you might be surprised to learn is that I don't just treat the neck for anyone with tension type headaches. I look at the other end of the body. Lie on your side for me. Have a look at the sub-talar joint, and the foot, and the ankle in particular. Sub-talar joint, not much movement in here anyway, when that gets jammed up in here, can cause all sorts of problems working up all the way through the legs, up into the back, and through the thoracic spine and into your neck. And maybe contributing to that tension type headache. So articulating that sub-talar joint may be a great follow up technique, once you've worked on the neck for anyone with a tension type headache. Hope that helps.
