There are different versions of the story, but one of the most well-known versions involves his parents, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. According to the mythology, Goddess Parvati, who is Ganesha's mother, created Ganesha from the dirt and oils of her own body while she was taking a bath. She formed a boy from this mixture and infused life into him, making him her son and guardian of her privacy while she bathed. One day, when Parvati was getting ready for her bath, she asked Ganesha to stand guard at the entrance and not to let anyone in. However, during that time, Lord Shiva, Ganesha's father, returned home from his travels. Ganesha, unaware of Shiva's identity, blocked his way and refused to let him enter. This led to a confrontation between them, which escalated to the point where Shiva, in a fit of anger, severed Ganesha's head using his trident. Upon realizing the gravity of the situation and the mistake he had made, Lord Shiva and Parvati were deeply saddened. To rectify the situation, Shiva promised to restore Ganesha's life by attaching the head of the first living being he encountered. This happened to be an elephant. Shiva thus replaced Ganesha's head with that of an elephant, granting him a new life. This event not only gave Ganesha his distinctive elephant-headed appearance but also symbolized various aspects of Hindu philosophy, such as the cyclical nature of life and death, the importance of humility, and the idea that the divine can manifest in unexpected forms. The story of Ganesha's elephant head is a beloved myth in Hinduism, and Lord Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences, and the deity of wisdom and intellect. His image is often invoked at the beginning of important endeavors and events. For More Stories follow the link below: Child Labor Story: • Child Labor Story & Right to Education | S...
