Good Morning YT Family! This Sunday, Pastor Wise explores Matthew 12.9-14, emphasizing that for God to perform the unusual and miraculous in our lives, we must surrender our control and traditions to His divine will. Many of us are familiar with the declaration Have Your way, Lord , but this message reveals its true power. It is a desperate cry for divine intervention and a total release of our own control. Pastor Wise explains that when we collectively surrender, the atmosphere shifts, allowing for the supernatural—healing, salvation, and deliverance—to break forth in our lives. Pastor Wise breaks down how we can let the Lord have His way through two key points: 1. Get Out of the Way: Pastor Wise identifies that territorialism and ego are major impediments to God’s move. The Problem of Territory: In the text, the Pharisees were more concerned with their authority and spotlight than the man with the withered hand. They were threatened by Jesus' power and attempted to use religious rules to block his work. Stewardship vs. Ownership: Pastor Wise warns against territorial saints who treat church positions, seats, or ministries as personal property. He reminds us that nothing in the church belongs to us; it belongs to God, who bled and died for it. We must be like the unnamed synagogue leader who invited Jesus and then remained in the background. The only name that should matter in worship is Jesus Christ. 2. Make Way for Jesus: To let Jesus have His way, we must clear out man-made traditions that hinder transformation. Torah vs. Mishna: Pastor Wise distinguishes between Torah (God’s Word) and Mishna (human rules and preferences wrapped around the Word). He notes that many church arguments—over dress codes, music styles, or seating—are based on Mishna and personal preference rather than Biblical truth. Prioritize People Over Rules: The Pharisees asked "Is it lawful to heal?" while a man was suffering right in front of them. Wise challenges us to stop majoring in the minor issues like carpet color and start focusing on the major issues: depression, food insecurity, and broken marriages. Ultimately, Jesus did not let the religious opposition stop His plan. He told the man to stretch out your hand, proving that Jesus will work a miracle for you even if it makes your neighbor or the "religious folk" mad. Pastor Wise warns us that Jesus will not stay in a place where He cannot have His way. We are invited to release our burdens and chains—whether they be addiction, trauma, or pride—so that a new season of joy and peace can begin. Weekly Take Away: Don’t let your personal rules get in the way of what the Lord wants to do in your life and the lives of others. Stay Safe and God Bless! See you next week!
